Culinary Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and preparing food services, as well as providing kitchen coverage in residential substance abuse treatment services. Key responsibilities include food handling and preparation certification, knowledge of safety and health department guidelines, and the ability to work with a diverse population. The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be culturally competent, and have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. **Job Overview**

This is a union position that offers a competitive hourly rate of $22.88-$24.44. Benefits include a robust package, including PTO, 15 paid holidays, commuter benefits, retirement plans, and more. **Key Responsibilities**

* Food handling and preparation certification or experience in industrial or restaurant kitchen
* Industrial kitchen tools and equipment & cooking methods techniques
* Knowledge of safety and health department guidelines
* Nutrition and special dietary requirements
* Volume preparation, portion control and food preservation
* Inventory Control System transporting monitoring

**Requirements**

* High school diploma or GED
* Valid California driver's license insurable by HealthRIGHT 360
* First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment
* CPR Certified within 30 days of employment
* Food handlers card
* In compliance with the California Department of Public Health's mandate, all employees must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Medical and religious exemptions are available.
