Position Overview:
The Oncology Pharmacist plays a critical role in the management of pharmaceutical care within the cancer treatment setting. This position involves the preparation, dispensing, and oversight of medications utilized in patient care, ensuring safety and efficacy across diverse patient demographics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the safe and effective use of medications prescribed to patients.
2. Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and support staff.
3. Adhere to all relevant State and Federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Doctorate in Pharmacy or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
Experience:
- A minimum of five years of professional pharmacist experience is required for those with a Bachelor's degree.
- Candidates with a PharmD should have at least one year of recent inpatient hospital experience as a staff pharmacist or pharmacy intern in a general medical/surgical environment.
Licensure:
- Active Pharmacist License in the State of Florida is mandatory.
Work Environment:
This position is full-time and may require flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the pharmacy department and patient care services. The Oncology Pharmacist will be integral to the multidisciplinary team, contributing to the overall health and well-being of patients undergoing cancer treatment.
