We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at AdeIphi Medical Staffing in Albuquerque, NM. This is a contract/travel position that requires the candidate to work 9 weeks with a schedule of Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 7A-7:30P.
The ideal candidate will have a valid and active LPN state license, BLS certification, and excellent communication skills. The salary for this position is $1,523/36 hours (travel) or $1,152/36 hours (local).
About the Job
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at AdeIphi Medical Staffing, you will be responsible for delivering direct patient care under the guidance of RNs or physicians. Your tasks will include administering medications, wound care, vital signs monitoring, comprehensive patient assessments, and maintaining accurate records. You will also educate patients and their families on their medical conditions, prescribed medications, and self-care practices. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer medications and treatments accurately, ensuring adherence to established protocols.
* Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical exams, medical histories, and medication reviews.
* Monitor and document patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
* Maintain detailed and precise patient records, recording changes in their condition, administered treatments, and medication management.
* Educate patients and their families on their medical conditions, prescribed medications, and self-care practices.
* Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care.
* Address patient comfort and safety requirements, including positioning, mobility assistance, and pain management.
* Respond swiftly and effectively during medical emergencies, adhering to established protocols and delivering basic life support as necessary.
* Adhere rigorously to infection control procedures, encompassing proper hand hygiene and utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent infections from spreading.
* Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies, in strict accordance with regulations and guidelines.
* Foster health and wellness by promoting preventive care measures like vaccinations and screenings, and aiding with health assessments.
* Advocate for patients' rights and needs within the healthcare system, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and support.
* Stay current on nursing best practices, regulations, and advancements through ongoing education and training.
* In certain cases, LPNs may supervise certified nursing assistants (CNAs) or unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
