UNC Health Southeastern is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Tech to join our team. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures, maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved program in Surgical Technology.
  • Certified as a Surgical Technician.
  • BCLS certification, with recertification required every two years.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a surgical services environment.
  • Knowledge of surgical equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to apply age-appropriate principles of communication and clinical practice relevant to patients of all ages.

Additional Skills:

Incumbent must demonstrate competence in the use of equipment and application of procedures before being allowed to perform independently.
