Pacemaker Nurse

At Loyola University Health System, we are seeking a skilled Pacemaker Nurse to join our team. As a Pacemaker Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with pacemakers, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clarify and implement orders from physicians, physician assistants, and advance practice nurses by administering medications and performing treatments and testing as prescribed.
• Recognize symptoms and establish priorities consistent with the patient's condition, documenting ongoing assessments of the patient's physical and emotional status to address their needs appropriately.
• Obtain information from patients and/or families to develop an appropriate patient educational plan, formulating, implementing, and continually revising the patient plan of care based on ongoing assessment of the patient, information acquired from the patient's database, and resources within the medical center.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to promote effective patient care, maintaining strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and department information to ensure patient rights.
Requirements:
• Associates Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing
• Less than one year of previous job-related experience
• Current Registered Nurse License State of Illinois
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Specialty certification in a clinical or functional area of nursing granted by a national nursing organization
• Prior experience in treatment of cardiac arrhythmia disorders and the implantation & routine maintenance of pacemakers
