Job Summary

The Wellness & Rec Center MMC at Florida International University is seeking a student to join their team of professionals. As a Student Building Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the 120,000 square foot building, including opening and closing procedures, customer service, and facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Open and close the building daily, ensuring all systems are functioning properly
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patrons, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner
  • Oversee the work of student assistants, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Assist with facility coordination, including special events and employee orientations
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of equipment, reporting any issues to management
  • Communicate effectively with professional staff, ensuring seamless operations
  • Supervise patrons, enforcing policies and procedures to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment
  • Accurately complete work orders and incident reports
  • Assist with training and evaluation of student assistants
  • Receive and store lost and found items
  • Assist with inventory management and equipment maintenance
  • Enforce policies related to the equipment checkout desk
  • Respond to emergencies and follow established protocols
Requirements
  • Must have worked for the department for at least one consecutive semester
  • Must maintain current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Ability to attend mandatory departmental trainings and meetings
  • Must be enrolled at FIU with a minimum of six credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate
Work Schedule

Hours may vary depending on schedule and department needs. Flexible schedule between 5:45 AM - 11:00 PM.

Compensation

$15.00/Hour
