Shelter Associate

United Way of Weld County is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Shelter Associate to join our team. As a key member of our Housing Navigation Center, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness.

• Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Maintain a clean and organized shelter environment, adhering to COVID-19 protocols and shelter safety policies.
• Collaborate with HNC staff to ensure seamless service delivery between daytime and nighttime operations.
• Utilize trauma-informed de-escalation techniques to address guest concerns and mitigate conflict.
• Build and maintain relationships with community partner agencies, key stakeholders, and the Weld County community.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in homeless services, case management, social work, or related nonprofit field.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
• Self-motivated and excellent communication skills.

• Competitive hourly rate with additional pay for overnight shifts and bilingual speakers.
• Flexible work hours with potential downtime for schoolwork or personal activities.
• Evening meals provided during work shifts.
