About the Job

This 13-week assignment offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to deliver high-quality patient care. As a Travel Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) scanners, performing diagnostic imaging procedures, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Preparation and Safety
    • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, addressing any concerns, and ensuring they are comfortable throughout the process.
    • Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
    • Position patients properly on the CT table, prioritizing safety and comfort during the procedure.
  • Operation of CT Equipment
    • Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, adhering to established protocols for each scan, including radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging parameters.
    • Administer contrast agents or dye injections under physician or radiologist guidance to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.
    • Monitor equipment performance during imaging to ensure high-quality images are captured and no errors occur.
  • Image Quality and Review
    • Review CT images for quality, ensuring all required areas are captured and meeting diagnostic standards.
    • Collaborate with radiologists to guarantee images meet quality expectations, supporting accurate diagnoses.
    • Repeat or adjust scans as necessary to improve image quality or comprehensive imaging coverage.
  • Patient Education and Support
    • Provide education and guidance to patients regarding aftercare following contrast injections, potential side effects, and follow-up procedures.
    • Address patient concerns about the procedure, including fears of radiation exposure or claustrophobia, offering support as needed.
    • Maintain patient privacy and dignity throughout the imaging process.
    Compensation and Benefits
