Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at Yamaha Motor Manufacturing. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and supervise quality engineering techniques and methods in assigned areas or projects.
  • Develop and implement improved ways to extract, process, and use raw materials.
  • Analyze the impact of products on the environment and on people using them.
  • Determine the causes of breakdowns and test manufactured products to maintain quality.
  • Estimate the time and cost to complete projects.
Responsibilities
  • Provide support to manufacturing for supplier quality improvement and new and changed product launch.
  • Interface with Product Design, Service, Purchasing, ME, YMUS, and YMC.
  • Support Purchasing Department in the area of advanced APQP on new and changed model introductions.
  • Help suppliers develop and implement process controls, SPC, and other statistical methods.
  • Develop and implement quality metrics to monitor internal and supplier quality performance.
  • Perform problem solving and lead problem solving activities at suppliers and within YMMC.
  • Perform on-site supplier process audit and internal quality systems.
  • Initiate and review supplier corrective actions for problem resolution.
  • Develop and document supplier quality systems, standards, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • 4-year technical degree (mechanical or industrial or quality assurance engineering) with a minimum of 6-8 years experience in Quality Engineering.
  • Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem solving techniques at both suppliers and within the manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with applied experience working in a team environment.
