Key Responsibilities:

MaxLinear is on the lookout for a seasoned Principal Analog EDA Engineer to enhance our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will concentrate on the following:

  • Overseeing the development, upkeep, and support of the MaxLinear Analog and RFIC Project Environment, which encompasses EDA Tools, PDK, and tailored MxLware scripts.
  • Collaborating with design teams to aid in the customization of design workflows and the creation of scripts for automating design processes.
  • Installing and managing EDA Tools, including Cadence, Mentor, and Synopsys.
  • Providing assistance to IC design engineers regarding EDA-related challenges while maintaining tools, licenses, storage, and computing servers.
  • Creating device CDF, callbacks, netlist procedures, and relevant utilities utilizing Cadence SKILL language.
  • Offering user support for various PDKs and EDA Tools for design entry, simulation, layout, and verification.
  • Setting up, assessing, and deploying next-generation design environments and PDKs.
  • Developing custom scripts using Perl, Python, and SKILL language to validate and ensure quality for various PDK components; automating analog and RF simulation workflows.
  • Establishing, maintaining, and validating Custom DRC rules to enhance foundry-supplied DRC rules; developing LVS and ERC Physical Verification rule decks.
  • Creating and supporting EMIR technology files and verification processes.
  • Driving innovation and enabling custom analog/RF design methodologies and solutions to tackle critical design challenges in cutting-edge technologies.
  • Leading collaboration with EDA and Foundry vendors/partners to deliver innovative and comprehensive PDKs for analog/mixed signal/RF designers.
  • Producing documentation and delivering hands-on training for design and layout engineers.
  • Engaging with EDA vendors to monitor and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with Cadence Virtuoso Environment and Back-End Verification Tools such as Spectre, Maestro, and Layout XL.
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Perforce and Method IC.
  • Knowledge of Cadence SKILL Language.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, along with excellent multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 9 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 7 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

MaxLinear embraces a Total Compensation philosophy that includes base salary and eligibility for annual discretionary bonuses, with many positions also offering stock-based compensation.

The anticipated starting base salary ranges from $120,300 to $190,000 annually.

The actual starting base salary will be determined based on various role-related criteria such as educational qualifications, relevant work experience, required skill sets, and geographic location.
