Painter - Rock Eagle 4-H Center

We are seeking a skilled painter to join our maintenance team at the University of Georgia's Rock Eagle 4-H Center. As a painter, you will be responsible for maintaining the center's interior and exterior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, doors, and windows.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and prepare surfaces for painting using sandpaper, steel wool, or soap and water.
- Finish sheet rock as needed.
- Paint interior and exterior walls and ceilings of buildings with brush, roller, or spray gun.
- Varnish, stain, shellac, or otherwise finish desks, doors, cabinets, moldings, and floors.
- Clean and trim windows and doors.
- Caulk cracks and glaze windows.
- Clean entry ways and building eaves.
- Pressure wash buildings and sidewalks.
- Technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training.
- Ability to self-initiate and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to interact positively with guests.
- Ability to obtain Certified Pool Operators certification.
- General knowledge of heavy equipment operation.
This position involves working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines. The painter will be required to lift and carry ladders and paint buckets, and may be required to drive to perform job duties.
