Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize advanced analytical capabilities and technical resources to implement infrastructure solutions that facilitate command decision-making and fulfill mission objectives.
  • Assist in the integration of innovative technologies and equipment within the laboratory setting.
  • Evaluate network architecture and device configurations to identify significant security vulnerabilities and recommend best practices for security enhancement.
  • Provide guidance on the formulation of laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant policies.
  • Offer support for Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to users.
  • Deliver assistance for MacOS and iOS platforms to users.
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions for basic to intermediate technical issues and user inquiries.
  • Monitor and respond to user requests through IT helpdesk channels and telephone support.
  • Aid in the management of user accounts and the resetting of credentials.
  • Implement granular access control measures, monitor system performance and user accessibility, establish backup protocols, and oversee system security.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex storage issues across the organization, related to storage and replication strategies over local and wide area networks, while addressing storage-related network and system problems as they arise.

Essential Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is mandatory; TS/SCI clearance is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability is necessary.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in system administration.
  • Proficiency with various operating systems, including Linux/Unix and MacOS.
  • Knowledge of networking principles and network administration.
  • Experience with Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
  • Familiarity with virtual desktop environments (e.g., Citrix, VMWare).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple locations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools, including ELK and Splunk.
  • Skills in virtualization automation and optimization.
  • Experience with Jamf Pro, DEP, and Enterprise Connect implementation.
  • Proficiency in drafting technical procedures and standard operating procedures.

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related field; or a High School Diploma with 4+ years of lab management or systems administration experience.
