Electrical Engineering Avionics Department

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA/ASIC Engineer to join our team in the Tactical Space organization. As a key member of our Electrical Engineering Avionics department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex digital systems for our Command and Data Handling (CD&H) products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research and analyze system requirements to develop programmable logic requirements, design documents, and test specifications
  • Design and develop VHDL code for FPGA/ASIC devices, including RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate digital systems with other components and ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve design efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements:
  • 9 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other STEM discipline; 4 years with a PhD
  • Experience with VHDL design or advanced verification for FPGA's
  • Well-versed in VHDL design for an aerospace environment or space application
  • Proficient in FPGA design flow, including RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis
  • Experience with translating system requirements into programmable logic requirements, design documents, and test specifications
  • Experience with DSP, MATLAB, and SimuLink
  • Experience with VHDL design for Software Defined Radios
  • Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA)
Tools and Technologies:
  • Vivado, Quartus, QuestaSim
  • Familiarity with FPGA physical constraints and achieving timing closure
  • Experience with board or system level debug using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
