Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator will collaborate with fellow forklift operators, truck drivers, and general laborers to meet performance objectives. This role involves loading and unloading vehicles while safely operating forklifts to complete tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate forklifts to load and unload products from delivery vehicles and store finished goods.
  • Receive and inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Transport consumables to production areas as required.
  • Maintain equipment in proper working condition and ensure cleanliness at the end of each shift.
  • Work with the yard supervisor to address discrepancies, malfunctions, and potential issues.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment in accordance with safety training.
  • Collaborate with the team to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills; proactively report on issues and progress.
  • Safety-oriented; operates equipment in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Effective time management; comfortable working under time-sensitive deadlines.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a sit-down forklift operator or in a related role.
  • Familiarity with forklift operation and safety protocols.
  • High School Diploma is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 80 pounds. Must be able to closely inspect and continuously monitor all machinery in the production process. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move throughout the facility. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary, ascend and descend steps and ladders, and position themselves in tight spaces.
