Art Director and Retail Manager

Job Summary
The Art Director and Retail Manager provides a person-centered and safe environment for the art team by leading leadership development, training, information, and assistance to staff and volunteers so they can work effectively with the artists. They oversee the culture, client engagement, productivity, budget, and program ensuring employee and community engagement is promoted in both retail storefront and studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development: Recommend new services and modify existing services to meet participant needs, implement activities that promote community inclusion and participation, and independence in the most natural setting possible.
- Budget Management: Lead and manage budget and resources, implementing strategies to achieve program goals and objectives while controlling costs and generating revenue.
- Leadership: Assist the ArtWorks and Retail Manager with long-range planning and goal setting for the organization, working toward the achievement of overall agency goals.
- Team Supervision: Provide direction to assigned artWorks staff and the studio and retail team, overseeing resources and strategies to achieve goals and objectives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines. Ability to provide artistic guidance and direction in a wide variety of art media, balance mission with market value, and interact effectively with customers/employers, clients, families, co-workers, and service team members.
Education and Experience
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a business or human services related field and/or 5 years combined experience providing services to individuals with disabilities or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of one year experience in a leadership position required, three years preferred.
