Job Summary

Fairstead is seeking a highly skilled Recertification Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for reviewing resident files, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review resident files to ensure compliance with Section 8 and LIHTC regulations
  • Process initial, annual, and interim recertifications, and calculate retroactive rent
  • Identify households with income reporting discrepancies and make rent adjustments
  • Notify residents of upcoming recertifications and schedule initial interviews
  • Prepare third-party verification forms and maintain resident files
  • Review tenant ledgers for arrears and perform other related duties as required
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Section 8, LIHTC, and HUD regulations
  • Experience with EIV reports and COS certification
  • Detail-oriented and able to operate on a deadline-driven schedule
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
