The primary instructional leader for the district, responsible for delivering the prescribed curriculum effectively and employing a diagnostic/prescriptive approach to identify and adapt to the needs and interests of students.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of curriculum content and standards.
- Planning and assessing instruction and curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Establishing and maintaining a well-managed classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Delivering effective instruction that meets the needs of all students, including those with multiple disabilities.
- Communicating with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success and well-being.
- Promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom and school community.
Requirements
This position is a grant-funded role that requires a Bachelor's Degree, with a Master's Degree preferred. The ideal candidate will hold a MA DESE Certification in Moderate Disabilities PreK-8 or 5-12 and have experience working with students who have multiple disabilities. Strong classroom management and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. The district offers training in de-escalation and restraint techniques, and the successful candidate will be expected to utilize data to inform instruction and drive student achievement.
