Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Legal Entity Control team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting various accounting functions, including corporate fund accounting, expense management, corporate structure management, and internal and external financial reporting preparation and analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and month-end responsibilities associated with both regulated and non-regulated entities.
  • Perform month-end closing procedures consisting of financial statement preparation, cash reconciliations, recording income/expense accruals, recording intercompany transactions, and preparing capital allocation schedules.
  • Collaborate with Tax, Legal, and Payroll teams on the management of global intercompany relationships.
  • Assist in preparing monthly consolidated financial statements, including consolidation of various overseas entities.
  • Prepare financial reports for U.S. Census Bureau and Bureau of Labor and Statistics surveys.
  • Collaborate with our Tax department to provide relevant information around various tax provisions and filings.
  • Work alongside our Treasury group in a cash management and forecasting capacity.
  • Perform accounting research on an as-needed basis to provide informed recommendations on specific transactions.
  • Assist in the creation and design of automated reports requested by business stakeholders.
  • Test and utilize automated tools for reconciliation and profit reports. Automated tools can include utilizing Workday Financial Reporting, Unix commands, SQL queries, and running scripts in Python.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Excellent understanding of GAAP.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience at a Big 4 firm, reputable public accounting firm, or internal corporate accounting in the financial services industry.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • VBA/SQL experience and familiarity with Workday Financials preferred.
  • Partnership or investment accounting experience is preferred.
  • CPA license required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills coupled with a detail-oriented approach.

Compensation:

Annual base salary range of $100,000 to $130,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
