Position Summary
The Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment is seeking a dedicated LPN who demonstrates compassion and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations. The LPN will play a crucial role in patient monitoring, conducting routine assessments, and collaborating with Program Directors and medical personnel to fulfill client requirements. Success in this role requires the ability to follow directions and perform effectively in high-pressure environments. An exemplary LPN possesses strong observational skills and a genuine empathy for patients while upholding professionalism.
Incentives for Overnight Shifts: $20 bonus per shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, plan, implement, monitor, and assess the medical and nursing care provided to all patients.
- Communicate procedures and treatments to patients to foster cooperation, understanding, and reduce anxiety.
- Ensure basic comfort, hygiene, and safety for all patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients, document significant conditions and reactions, and inform the Lead Nurse or RN on call of any changes in a patient's condition.
- Coordinate referrals for patients and ensure follow-up on medical referrals.
- Act promptly in life-threatening situations in accordance with nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Document patient history and biopsychosocial status, ensuring accurate and complete clinical records.
- Supervise staff during assigned shifts, including training, coaching, and evaluating performance; report personnel issues to the Treatment Director.
- Assess unit activities to guarantee quality patient care, staff relations, and service efficiency; inspect facilities for cleanliness and safety.
- Address and resolve complaints or escalate unusual issues to the Treatment Director, serving as a liaison between management and staff.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Current Practical Nursing License in Minnesota is required.
- Ability to work flexible hours is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain treatments to patients.
- Demonstrated empathy and patience towards clients.
- Capability to follow instructions from medical professionals.
