The American Crystal Sugar Team is seeking a Technical Training Lead. This position is pivotal in delivering comprehensive training in processes, maintenance, and safety protocols at the factory site. The Technical Training Lead will oversee and guide the progress of trainees through various programs, both in classroom settings and practical applications on the floor.


Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Fostering a Positive Work Environment: Promote a culture aligned with Company Values, emphasizing Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
  • Process Technician Program: Develop, implement, and manage training initiatives. Ensure the integrity of technical training by providing expert guidance to all Process Technician students across various levels.
  • Advanced Process Technician Training: Create and execute training and rotation plans for new hires and advanced Process Technician students, which includes leading both classroom instruction and practical assessments.
  • Boiler Technician Training: Support training related to steam and condensate management, assist in maintaining training records, and manage the organization of training materials.
  • Maintenance Training Coordination: Oversee the Maintenance Skills Enhancement Training (MSET) program, ensuring comprehensive specialized training through lectures and performance assessments.
  • Learning Management System Oversight: Manage tracking and record-keeping for training classifications and student progress, ensuring individualized training plans are developed and implemented effectively.
  • Safety Integration: Incorporate safe work practices into all training materials and activities, ensuring adherence to the Company's safety policies and procedures.

To excel in this role, candidates should possess technical knowledge typically acquired through a four-year technical degree or relevant work experience. A thorough understanding of the technical aspects of the sugar production process is essential, along with familiarity with SOP guidelines, Food Quality, Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, personal safety, and general mechanical principles.


Strong presentation skills, proficiency in computer applications, and effective communication abilities are crucial for conducting technical training and evaluating student performance. Administrative, organizational, and coaching skills are also vital for success in this position.
