CVOR Nurse Job Description

The CVOR nurse plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures. This includes participating in the sedation of patients, assisting physicians during procedures, and monitoring vital signs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical status upon admission and throughout their treatment
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for assigned patients
  • Assess, plan, and evaluate nursing care for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Participate in the care of patients receiving sedation and assist physicians during procedures
  • Administer prescribed medications, apply dressings, and monitor vital signs during procedures
  • Ensure sterile procedures are followed throughout the course of surgery, necessary equipment and medications are available for the operating room team, record progress and outcomes of surgical procedures, and ensure proper handling of specimens
  • Provide quality control and ensure patient safety at all times
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • 2 years of experience in the Operating Room (OR) or Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting
  • BLS/ACLS certification
