Job Summary:

The Home Health Aide will assist professional nursing staff in performing nursing care activities to patients with an assigned unit. This includes providing basic care and support to patients, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, as well as assisting with daily living activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Provide basic care and support to patients, such as changing bed linens and cleaning the patient's living area
  • Assist with medication reminders and other tasks as assigned by the patient's primary nurse
  • Report any changes in the patient's condition to the primary nurse
  • Participate in patient care conferences and attend all required in-services
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience or training as a PCA/CNA/GNA/Home Health Aide in healthcare (Required)
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently (Required)
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Home Health Aide certification from the District of Columbia or a Maryland state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) who has been granted temporary certification to practice as a HHA in the District (Required for DC Sites)
  • Nursing Assistant certification (CNA) from State of Maryland (Required for MD Sites)
Working Environment:

This job operates in a hospital or office environment. The Home Health Aide will work in the patient's home, providing care and support in a variety of settings.

Physical Requirements:

The Home Health Aide will be required to lift 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

This is a PRN position working standard and extended hours.
