As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will engage in the following key activities:

  • Evaluation Services: Conduct thorough evaluations by reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, and documenting results. Clearly communicate evaluation outcomes and treatment strategies to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in goal-setting.
  • Treatment Implementation: Apply treatment protocols effectively based on evaluation findings and patient needs. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary and monitor any changes in the patient's condition that may require adjustments to the care plan.
  • Discharge Planning: Facilitate appropriate discharge processes and follow-up care. Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities, reflecting the patient's journey through care, including evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Time Management: Exhibit strong time management skills to meet productivity expectations while maintaining an organized schedule. Demonstrate a commitment to providing seamless patient access to care through adaptability and empathy.
  • Professional Development: Take initiative in pursuing continuing education opportunities for personal and organizational growth. Serve as a mentor and clinical instructor for students and new staff.

Qualifications:
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY).
  • Active licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required.
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence.
