We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Construction Inspector to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. As a Bridge Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction process of bridges, ensuring compliance with contract documents and plans, and providing technical assistance to resolve challenges related to construction operations.
Key Responsibilities- Construction Oversight: Oversee the work and daily activities of road and bridge construction crews to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans.
- Documentation: Document and verify the work and daily activities of road and bridge construction crews.
- Inspector Daily Reports: Complete Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs) for assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and materials incorporated into the project.
- Measurements and Calculations: Take measurements, calculate quantities, and perform engineering-related computations.
- Material Testing: Operate relevant material testing equipment.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance and help resolve challenges related to construction operations.
- Meetings and Coordination: Attend pre-construction meetings and progress meetings, and help coordinate project start-up activities.
- Bridge Inspections: Assist with in-service bridge inspections and bridge project scoping.
- Education: High School diploma is required; Associate degree in civil technology or related field is desired.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of related bridge construction experience is preferred.
- Certifications: MDOT Certifications required.
- Skills: Knowledge of MDOT specifications is a plus; able to work in a team environment and have good communication skills; basic computer knowledge/skills.
