Job Summary and Qualifications
Medical Surgical Nurse
Registered nurses are responsible for providing and coordinating patient care. The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to deliver both physical and psychological support to patients and their families. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assessments and reassessments, developing personalized care plans, administering medications, documentation, education, proper equipment maintenance, and communicating patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, treatment range, and patient care appropriate to the ages of patients served.
- Promote customer service initiatives.
- Utilize the nursing process for individualized care to meet patient needs.
- Exhibit the ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
- Document all aspects of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, guests, physicians, and colleagues.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
- Current licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
