Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled CT Technologist to join their team in Waterloo, Iowa.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced CT Technologist to work as a member of our healthcare team. This position involves operating computed tomography scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures for patients.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong technical knowledge of CT imaging equipment. The CT Technologist will be responsible for preparing patients for scans, operating the CT scanner, and ensuring high-quality images are captured.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Patient Preparation and Communication:
    • Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, answering any questions, and ensuring they are comfortable.
    • Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
  • Operation of CT Equipment:
    • Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, ensuring proper settings for each scan, including parameters such as radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging protocols.
    • Administer contrast agents or dye injections (under physician or radiologist guidance) to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.
  • Image Quality and Review:
    • Review the CT images for quality, ensuring that all required areas are captured and the images meet diagnostic standards.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort:
    • Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, including using the lowest possible dose for effective imaging.
    • Maintain a sterile, safe, and clean environment in the CT room, ensuring all equipment is sanitized between patients.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures and assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a CT Technologist in a healthcare setting.
  • Certification/Licensure: Current certification as a registered technologist in Radiologic Sciences (R.T.) or equivalent, and a valid state license to practice.
  • Educational Background: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to patients and healthcare teams.
Salary: $90,000 per year, based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week, plus tax-free stipend amount to be determined. With over 10 years of experience, we can offer up to $120,000.
