Job Summary

The Lead Baker is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of food in accordance with our high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a strong leader who can motivate and guide a team of cooks and bakers to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and assign daily work tasks to a team of food service professionals, ensuring efficient use of resources and meeting production deadlines.
  • Train and mentor staff on food safety and sanitation procedures, cooking techniques, and food preparation methods.
  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to standardized recipes and production guidelines.
  • Set up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items, adhering to food safety protocols.
  • Operate a range of kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers, with precision and attention to detail.
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines, ensuring presentation meets our high standards.
  • Properly store food and maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Adhere to Aramark's safety policies and procedures, including proper food safety and sanitation protocols.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a supervisor in a related role is preferred.
  • Experience as a baker or cook is required.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision is essential.
  • Proven knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations is required.
  • Food safety certification is required.
  • Demonstrated basic math and counting skills are necessary.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
