CDI Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist to join our team at Conifer Revenue Cycle Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in reviewing medical records to ensure accurate and compliant documentation, facilitating physician queries, and educating healthcare professionals on documentation guidelines.

• Conduct thorough medical record reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure accurate MS-DRG assignment, risk of mortality, and severity of illness.
• Collaborate with case managers, nursing staff, and other ancillary staff to resolve physician queries and ensure accurate documentation.
• Develop and implement effective training programs for new staff members to ensure compliance with documentation guidelines.
• Stay up-to-date with AHA Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines, CMS directives, and other regulatory requirements.
• Communicate and complete Clinical Documentation Improvement activities and coding issues for follow-up and resolution.

• Active state Registered Nurse license.
• Zero to two years of experience in acute care nursing or a related field.
• Graduate from a Nursing program, BSN, or graduate degree.
• Preferred: CDIP or CCDS certification.

This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, efficiently use a computer keyboard and mouse, and have good visual acuity. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
