Logistics Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team at dnata catering U.S. in Inwood, NY, supporting the JFK International Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all transportation department personnel during shift to ensure flights are serviced and catered, meeting customer requirements and preventing aircraft departure delays.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate effectively with customers, shifts, and internal departments to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Schedule vehicles and personnel for optimal utilization, controlling manpower hours, overtime, truck rotations, and preventive maintenance.
- Maintain daily controls to reduce vehicle damage and fines.
- Produce required shift reports, documentation, driver logs, and investigation reports.
- Monitor flight arrivals and departures, and communicate with personnel during daily debriefings.
- Check with dispatch for flight arrivals and drivers' locations, recording arrival and departure times.
- Attend company-provided supervision and management training.
- Comply with HACCP, GMP, and dnata catering sanitation and food handling policies.
- Ensure the safety and security of all transportation-related operations.
- Work in a safe manner to prevent accidents and stress safe working procedures to employees daily.
- Investigate, document, and report all on-the-job accidents.
- Provide Ramp safety and A1 audits.
- Airport experience is required.
- CDL License Class A or B is required.
- High School diploma or GED with 2 years of related experience and/or training is required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Must be able to obtain passport authority and U.S. Customs & Border Protection background check and ID.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and in inclement weather.
This role requires constant attention to detail, accuracy, and concentration. The employee must be able to multi-task under time limits, follow instructions, and respond to management direction. The position also requires constant attendance and punctuality, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical DemandsThe employee must be able to stand, walk, reach, and stoop, and regularly lift and move up to 30 pounds. The employee must also be able to work in extreme cold and heat, heights, and loud noise.
