About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Analyst to join our team at MITRE. As a Cost Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting multiple projects that solve our customers' most critical economic challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement economic models to analyze the impact of investments, risk mitigation strategies, and other government actions.
  • Engage with customers to advise and recommend economic metrics, tools, and policies that result in sustainable solutions.
  • Develop strategic external partnerships to further the scope and depth of applied research and research outcomes.
  • Analyze financial, political, and socioeconomic data to inform decision-making.
  • Conduct surveys and utilize various sampling techniques to gather data.
  • Research various fields, including politics, healthcare, education, energy, and more.
  • Analyze market trends and make recommendations based on findings.
Requirements
  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in the fields of Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Econometrics, Statistics, Operations Research, Data Analytics, or Quantitative Sciences.
  • Technical expertise/experience in one or more economic sub-specialties, including Financial, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Behavioral Economics, and more.
  • Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.
  • The ability to think critically and be proactive in pursuing research and problem-solving with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.
  • This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Economics, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience and expertise in the application of economic research in a business setting.
  • Recent publications.
  • Strong credentials, recognition, and partnerships in the design and evaluation of policies and strategies to deliver solutions at scale.
  • Experience in finance.
  • Recognized expertise and professional network in cost, economics, or finance.
