About the Role

Agility Robotics is a pioneer in the field of robotics, and we're looking for a talented engineer to join our team. As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer - Motion Planning, you will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art motion planning algorithms for humanoid robots. Your work will involve designing, implementing, testing, and deploying motion planning and trajectory optimization algorithms for humanoid robots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement motion planning and trajectory optimization algorithms for humanoid robots
  • Develop algorithms robust to environmental uncertainty and imperfect state estimation
  • Contribute to the software architecture and design of the autonomy stack
  • Collaborate with members of the autonomy teams to solve complex cross-functional problems
  • Engineer high-quality software that is well-tested, reliable, and maintainable

About You:

  • MS or Ph.D. in robotics, computer science, or related field or have equivalent industry experience
  • Strong mathematical fundamentals in search and optimization
  • Proficiency in classical robotics motion planning and trajectory optimization algorithms
  • Experience developing planning and optimization algorithms that are subject to geometric and dynamic constraints
  • Skilled in developing algorithms for sample-based motion planning, trajectory optimization, and model predictive control
  • Experience developing and deploying manipulation algorithms on high-DOF robots
  • Industry experience deploying mobile manipulation robots in real-world applications
  • Strong software experience in modern C++ and Python
  • Exposure to standard agile and software development processes (issue tracking tools, feature branching, version control, continuous integration, and deployment)
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively both orally and in writing with other team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Authorization to work in the USA
