Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services in multiple nursing programs, including Family Planning, STI, immunization, and Communicable Disease.
  • Perform direct nursing services, including assessments, lab tests, and administering medication.
  • Develop and implement care plans, and participate in public health emergencies and community health assessments.
  • May supervise support staff and provide leadership and guidance to team members.
Requirements
  • Requires licensure as an RN in Virginia or a compact state.
  • Must obtain RN license within 90 days of hire, if a new graduate.
  • Requires BLS certification and adherence to all safety policies.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing, and has skills in physical examination, health assessment, and interviewing and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to function independently, prioritize and organize work, solve problems, adapt to change, and function as a team member.
  • Knowledge of public health concepts, principles of public health nursing, and principles of epidemiology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a public health setting or one related to disease prevention and health promotion.
  • Experience working with children and adults in outpatient settings.
  • Family planning, immunization, and sexually transmitted infection clinical experience.
  • Experience with TB management.
