Geriatric Medical Assistant
Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Geriatric Medical Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to seniors, performing clerical and administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Assist physicians/providers with patient care responsibilities, including rooming patients and managing medical records.
- Clerical and Administrative Tasks: Send/receive patient medical records, schedule appointments, and abstract new patient records into EPIC.
- Environmental Responsibilities: Set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
- Other Related Duties: Maintain patient autonomy, confidentiality, and dignity; assist with chaperone duties for patient medical procedures as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited medical assistant certificate program is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year private practice medical assistant experience preferred in a primary care or specialist office.
- Certification/Registration: Medical Assisting Certification is preferred.
Essential Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- EMR experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are preferred.
