Position Overview

Under the guidance of nursing leadership at the hospital, this role encompasses the management of a significant function, service, or process that supports nursing operations. The position may also extend to managers overseeing multiple nursing units, reporting to higher-level directors.

  • This role typically involves oversight of less than 50 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff across various nursing units or management of a key nursing operational support function.
  • Direct reports may include clinical managers and nursing supervisory personnel.
  • The Manager of Patient Services is accountable for planning, implementing, and evaluating processes that enhance performance, staffing efficiency, financial management, staff competency, and customer service outcomes.
  • It is essential to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, collaborating with healthcare team members to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • The role also includes identifying the need for policy development or revisions in collaboration with senior management, overseeing the formulation and approval of departmental procedures.
  • Responsibilities extend to developing and assessing performance metrics, contributing to long-term departmental goals, and assisting in budget management.
  • Exemplifying customer service excellence is a fundamental aspect of this position.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.

This position is categorized under Managers and Directors, based in Detroit, Michigan, and is a full-time role with day shift responsibilities.
