Job Summary

The Business Systems Analyst III plays a pivotal role in driving business success by collaborating with cross-functional teams to capture and translate business requirements into actionable specifications. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and digital product managers to gather and document business requirements, ensuring accurate translation into system specifications.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to ensure that engineering realizations align with business specifications, driving the development of complex software and data warehouse applications.
  • Participate in quality assurance testing, ensuring that software components are thoroughly tested and meet business expectations.
  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective approaches to achieve project and program objectives, leveraging expertise in business analysis and process optimization.
  • Manage requirements risks by proactively tracking and communicating issues, and devising methods to mitigate them.
  • Liaise with other project and program areas to coordinate interdependencies and resolve issues, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Analyze and communicate current and future state business processes, providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Support business units in resolving in-depth user questions and issues, demonstrating a customer-centric approach.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of new technology and business analysis standards and practices, staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Collaborate with IT management to define and develop documentation and business analysis artifact standards, guidelines, processes, and templates.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of the insurance business domain, assigned software business systems, and/or data warehouse applications.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
  • Experience with building technical documentation, such as user manuals, FAQs, application workflows, system integration documents, and incident response documents.
  • Strong background with IT management tools, including Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of software development tools, such as SQL, Postman, Power BI, Excel formulas and macros, and prototyping tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of business analysis processes, techniques, and work products.
  • Understanding of user experience design for web applications.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of computer software development, computer terminology, and software applications.
  • Experience in Agile software development processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate and convey information to business owners and software engineers and testers.
  • Strong customer service skills to provide end-user/business owner systems support on high-level issues.
Education

Required knowledge and skills would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field, plus 5 to 7 years of related experience.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Jersey City, NJ; New York State; and/or Washington State, the base salary range is listed below. This range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$110,000 - $160,000/year

Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
