General Purpose

The Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in developing, managing, and optimizing the IT systems for PACS Inc and its remote clients.

This position will require collaboration with cross-functional teams and other IT departments to identify needs, propose technical solutions, and implement technologies effectively.

A strong emphasis on automating IT processes for enhanced efficiency and supporting cloud environments is vital.

Essential Duties

  • Design, implement, and maintain IT systems infrastructure with a focus on cloud integration and optimization.
  • Ensure seamless operation and enhancement of both on-premise and cloud-based network and server environments.
  • Conduct regular system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance to minimize downtime and address technical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and implement new technologies that align with business goals.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and deliver timely solutions.
  • Conduct system upgrades, installations, and configurations to keep the infrastructure current.
  • Assist in evaluating and selecting hardware and software solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage and optimize virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Administer and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.
  • Adopt a methodology of Continual Improvement/Continual Deployment with a focus on optimization and automation.
  • Implement and manage IT security measures to safeguard systems from cyber threats.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes meticulously to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Demonstrated experience as an IT Systems Engineer or in a similar capacity, preferably in a multi-site environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of network protocols, infrastructure components, and systems administration.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Extensive experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong expertise in managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with IT security best practices and tools.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is highly desirable.
Mathematical Skills

Reasoning Ability

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) is a plus.
