Pulmonary Function Specialist

The Pulmonary Function Technologist will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with various pulmonary disorders. This role involves performing tests to diagnose respiratory diseases, measuring lung function, and assessing patient responses to treatment. The successful candidate will also assist with inpatient and outpatient procedures, including bronchoscopies and stress tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Select and implement evaluation and assessment methods that align with patient diagnoses, symptoms, and physician orders, documenting results according to Pulmonary Function policies and procedures.
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatment, as well as physician assistance, to patients.
- Identify significant changes or high-risk situations in patient conditions and take appropriate actions, reporting, consulting, and documenting as necessary.
- Offer patient education, family teaching, and support that meets patient and family needs.
- Complete order entry and verification, transcribe orders, and process patient charges.
- Disassemble, clean, and assemble Pulmonary Function equipment, performing preventive maintenance according to standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate patient/test scheduling with other caregivers.
- Perform pain assessment and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
