We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Frye Regional Medical Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical and administrative support to our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the assessment of patient needs and health plan by taking vital signs, history, medication listing, assessing visual acuity, and determining chief complaint.
- Assess patients' physical and mental status.
- Complete all necessary documentation in the patient's medical record in accordance with practice policies.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians with medical treatments, exams, and medical procedures.
- Administer prescribed oral medications and give intramuscular and subcutaneous injections. Perform venipunctures, CLIA-Waived and non-CLIA Waived lab testing.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and visitors.
- Arrange for specialized consultations and appointments for testing as ordered by physicians.
- Notify appropriate insurance personnel to pre-certify surgeries or tests ordered by physicians or other healthcare providers.
- Answer office phones, assist the front desk in scheduling appointments, and direct calls appropriately.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program required.
- Current credentialing (certification/registration) with American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA-CMA), NRCMA, NHA, NCCT, or American Medical Technologists (AMT-RMA) required.
