Service Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

The Service Technician is a critical member of our team, responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work with efficiency and accuracy. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive repair orders from the dispatcher and complete work as outlined with precision and speed.
  • Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and perform repairs in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the parts department to obtain necessary parts and ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required and notify the service advisor accordingly.
  • Document work performed and maintain accurate records.
  • Supervise the work of apprentice technicians as assigned and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes to stay up-to-date on the latest technical developments.
  • Ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean and that the shop area is neat and organized.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of on-the-job automotive technician experience.
  • ASE Certification and/or trade school certification.
  • Honda (or multi) brand experience.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to follow directions, willingness to learn, and mentor teammates.
  • Respect for teammates and a positive outlook.
