Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Employer Defense: Take ownership of high-stakes employment litigation on behalf of employers before state and federal courts and agencies, ensuring outcomes that protect and strengthen their positions.
- Strategic Litigation for Employers: Develop and implement legal strategies that advance employers' interests, including drafting and responding to discovery, preparing motions, and preparing cases for trial.
- Courtroom Advocacy: Confidently represent management-side clients in hearings and court proceedings, delivering persuasive arguments that influence judges and juries in favor of employers.
- Collaborative Legal Solutions: Work closely with a team of talented attorneys to provide innovative legal solutions and advice on complex employment law matters, all focused on supporting management and business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Proven Legal Expertise: 4+ years of proven success in employment litigation, with a strong track record of achieving favorable outcomes for management-side clients. Prior experience at a top-tier law firm or a law firm with 70+ employees.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including fair employment practices, wage-hour laws, FMLA, and other relevant regulations, all with a focus on protecting employers.
- Leadership: Ability to independently manage complex cases, demonstrating initiative and strategic thinking in defense of employer interests.
- Credentials: Strong academic background and admission to practice law in California.
- Communication: Exceptional writing and oral advocacy skills, with the ability to craft compelling arguments and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, all in the service of employer defense.
