About the Role

Malace|HR is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at an automotive manufacturing facility in Michigan. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of shift mechanics, electricians, and housekeepers, ensuring the smooth operation of facility equipment and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Collaborate with the Facilities Manager to implement, communicate, and enforce the facility's safety plan, promoting a culture of safety among employees.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating safe behavior and attitude to ensure all employees prioritize safety every day.
  • Direct the control and execution of work, ensuring quality assurance and adherence to maintenance work plans.
  • Coordinate the proper, safe, and efficient execution of maintenance work plans, including troubleshooting and repair of facility equipment.
  • Act as a liaison between technicians and management, addressing requests for support and grievances in a fair and timely manner.
  • Utilize OEM and non-OEM documentation, schematics, drawings, and manuals to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Source repair parts using catalogs, manuals, and the internet, and schedule and perform repairs efficiently.
  • Make recommendations to revise and update preventive maintenance schedules and perform root cause failure analysis to improve plant efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements
  • Minimum of years of experience in maintenance supervision or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Working knowledge of production and facility equipment and devices.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints and/or technical manuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn maintenance skills and adapt to new technologies.
  • Proven skill in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and negotiating machine custody and service schedules.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance techniques and root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Technical guidance and communication skills to support non-technical or production operators.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of operating practices of preventive maintenance.
