We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Work-Study Position in our Film and Media Arts department. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining the physical environment of the lab, preparing the facility for daily use, and checking film equipment in and out to students.
Responsibilities- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lab, including the sanitization of equipment.
- Prepare the facility for daily use, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Check film equipment in and out to students, inspecting the equipment upon return to ensure that all parts and accessories are included and the equipment is in working order.
- Maintain equipment and report any issues or damage to the supervisor.
- Conduct inventory of equipment and ensure that the lab is clean, organized, and secure.
This is an entry-level position, and on-the-job training will be provided. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions, and have a general knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred. The University of Utah is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
