About the Role:

Pitt Ohio, a leading transportation solutions provider, is seeking a Part-Time Dockworker to join our team at our Cincinnati, OH Terminal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload freight according to Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements on and off of trucks by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly.
  • Sort and secure items in position on trucks according to DOT requirements or on dock to prevent damage.
  • Lift various types of materials, including cartons, bags, cylinders, boxes, crates, drums, pipe, bars, rugs, etc.
  • Operate common material handling tools, such as carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and tow motors.
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, twist, carry, bend, reach, and lift both above and below waist level.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner to reduce personal risks and risk to fellow employees.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Process all paperwork daily associated with the execution of the job.
  • Be available and willing to work, with exceptions requiring management approval.
  • Work in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way at all times.
  • Perform other duties as directed or requested.

Requirements:

  • A minimum age of 17 years.
  • Pass a non-DOT physical examination.
  • Consent to a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to read and write the English language and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Consent to a ten-year check on work history.
