Our Ecosystem Approach

This strategy fosters collaboration among account management, medical, patient access, and market access teams to engage local healthcare systems effectively. Through this integrated model, customers will benefit from more coordinated care, supported by digital tools designed to bridge care gaps.

Role of the Health Science Advisor (HSA)

The HSA will connect with HCPs using a range of in-person, virtual, and digital methods, providing comprehensive insights into our products and the conditions they address. Otsuka's Clinical and Scientific Specialists (CSS) will offer in-depth clinical knowledge as needed, delivering tailored education on disease states, thought leadership, and real-world evidence.

Regional Leadership

Each ecosystem is overseen by Ecosystem Leads, who possess the autonomy to evaluate market-specific needs and make decisions that align with local customer demands. Otsuka is committed to enhancing customer engagement quality, accountability, and collaboration between patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively reach out to HCPs regarding:
    • Product access, including local market payer coverage and availability
    • On-label information, ensuring accurate and compliant communication
    • Guidance on patient care protocols and standard practices
    • Connecting providers to CSS for immediate inquiries
  • Engage customers through various digital platforms, ensuring their requests are addressed and feedback is collected.
  • Facilitate speaker programs and organize discussions among local provider groups to share experiences and outcomes.
  • Provide insights to the ecosystem lead to inform local strategy and business objectives.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in pharmaceutical or medical device sales.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the primary city in the sales territory.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience in commercial life sciences or related fields, engaging with key healthcare stakeholders.
  • 4+ years in a sales role with HCPs, ideally across a complex healthcare environment.
  • Clinical nursing or Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) background is highly regarded.
  • Ability to navigate a transforming environment effectively.
  • Proven success in mentoring and coaching peers to achieve their targets.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding financial and qualitative goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Knowledge of operational challenges in delivering healthcare products, including reimbursement and supply issues.
