Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Geohazard Practice Leader/Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in geology, geotechnical engineering, and hazard assessment and remediation. This role involves identifying and mitigating geological hazards due to climate change and other factors that impact and cause risk.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct geohazard assessments, including unstable slopes, landslides, rockfalls, and sinkholes.
- Collaborate with asset managers to develop proactive projects for reducing geohazard risks.
- Provide technical expertise in geotechnical engineering and emergency response.
- Utilize remote sensing tools, including LiDAR, for visual inspections and hazard identification.
- Work across business units and collaborate with existing staff to pursue and deliver successful projects.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geology, geotechnical engineering, or related field from an accredited four-year program.
- 10-15 years of directly related experience that includes working with power companies, DOTs, and other infrastructure stakeholders.
- Knowledge of geohazard assessment techniques and risk mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with groundwater, seismic skills, and underground mines.
- Ability to use remote sensing tools that play a crucial role in monitoring and predicting hazards.
- Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology.
- Professional Engineering/Geology Licensure (PE) (PG) Multiple states.
