Position Summary:

The Lead Financial Analyst will report directly to the Director of Accounting. The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, adapting to the evolving landscape of the transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute all journal entries related to lease and asset accounting.
  • Manage fixed asset, depreciation, and vehicle leasing schedules, including monthly reconciliations and group reporting requirements.
  • Ensure accurate recording of all cash transactions by the accounting team.
  • Review monthly reconciliations for various bank accounts.
  • Prepare diverse month-end close deliverables concerning fleet, cash, liabilities, and other assigned accounts.
  • Conduct financial statement variance analysis and provide insightful explanations to management.
  • Support the development of one to two junior staff members, focusing on enhancing productivity and efficiency.
  • Contribute to special projects and deliverables as required by the parent company.
  • Assist in the monthly financial reporting process using the consolidation tool.
  • Play an active role in the implementation of the new ERP system (NetSuite), particularly in the asset and lease modules (NetGain).
  • Generate reports within the ERP system, accompanied by relevant commentary and analysis.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities related to the General Ledger accounting team as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • CPA certification or eligibility is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of professional accounting experience, either in public accounting or corporate finance.
  • Highly self-motivated with a proven ability to manage increasing complexity and responsibility.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the capability to thrive in a high-volume transactional environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to flourish in a high-growth, entrepreneurial setting, adapting to changing priorities as the business evolves.
  • Exemplary personal integrity, discretion, and a positive attitude; adaptable and flexible in approach.
