At Alleghany Highlands Community Services, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to adults with moderate to profound intellectual disabilities in our 24-hour facility.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and team-oriented individual who is committed to delivering high-quality care and promoting the independence and well-being of our residents. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal health and safety of our residents, while also encouraging their participation in daily activities and promoting a positive and supportive living environment.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a $2,000 sign-on bonus for certified CNAs and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for CNAs in training. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and overnights, with shift differentials provided.

Required Education and Experience:

  • HS diploma or GED (required)
  • Must be a Virginia licensed CNA or willing to become licensed within 6 months of hire.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
  • Valid driver's license and meet requirements of motor vehicle check, drug/alcohol testing, and child abuse/neglect with the VA. Dept. of Social Services (required)

Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge and ability to utilize personal protective equipment in a manner that is compliant with standard precautions and safety expectations; Ability to safely assist individuals with all aspects of physical management including equipment use, safe lifting and physical assistance; Ability to lift and transfer individuals up to an average of 50 to 80 pounds; Ability to participate in and successfully pass behavioral intervention training; includes both verbal de-escalation skills and physical skills techniques to be utilized with individuals as needed; Able to respond quickly to correct situations deemed to be hazardous especially to individuals we serve; Ability to learn and successfully certify in medication administration; Knowledge of electronic health records and documentation standards as required by the program; Regular attendance at trainings and AHCS meetings; Knowledge and ability to operate a computer, electronic timesheet, and other software/systems used by AHCS; Willing and available to work modified schedules (weekends, holiday, etc.) as required; Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license; transport individuals, etc.
