Key Responsibilities of the RN Registered Nurse – PACU:

  1. Assess and evaluate the nursing care needs of patients post-surgery
  2. Deliver compassionate post-operative care and support
  3. Administer medications, manage dressings, and monitor vital signs
  4. Adhere to infection control protocols and monitor compliance
  5. Ensure proper handling of specimens
  6. Coordinate multidisciplinary care for optimal patient outcomes
  7. Document and communicate patient conditions using computerized systems
  8. Monitor and document recovery progress
  9. Facilitate family reunification with patients as soon as possible
  10. Provide clear discharge instructions and confirm understanding with patients and caregivers
  11. Conduct follow-up assessments post-surgery

Job Requirements for the RN Registered Nurse – PACU:

  1. Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  2. Current BLS/CPR certification from a recognized organization
  3. Active nursing license from the state board
