Job Title: Transportation Engineer-in-Training

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer-in-Training to support our Transit and Rail group, as well as road and highway projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on all phases of projects: drafting, design, 3D visualizations, quality reviews, and cost estimating.
  • Perform design tasks on a wide range of transportation projects, including transit, multi-modal, complete streets, freeways, and highways.
  • Prepare and modify construction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs.
  • Analyze maps, reports, drawings, as-builts, and test results for design projects.
  • Assist with post-design construction support, responding to RFIs, submittal reviews, as-built preparation, and field observations.
  • Perform construction inspections on a project-specific basis.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines such as bridge design, water resources, traffic design, and surveying.
  • Assist with utility coordination, including conflict analysis and working with public and private utility companies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil3D.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
