Job Summary:

Kaweah Health is seeking a skilled Speech Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Pathologist, you will assess, treat, and help to prevent disorders related to speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing problems. You will work with patients of all ages, providing individualized care and support to help them achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:

Administer standard formal evaluations as appropriate based on factors such as patient age, diagnosis, and clinical information from chart review and/or patient/family interview.
Complete documentation in a timely manner, with clear indications of progress towards functional goals.
Plan individual treatment programs following physician's orders.
Perform therapy treatment procedures as indicated and safely.
Provide instruction to team regarding patients functional needs as needed.
Contact physician for changes in treatment plan and program.
Train patient and/or patient's family/caregiver regarding patients care needs during functional daily activities.
Secure equipment for patients use in all settings, and make necessary fitting adjustments.
Complete daily charges.
Participate in continuing education to remain current in new treatment procedures, active in providing in-services to department staff.
Meet/exceed productivity requirements.
Assist with orientation of new therapists and assistants to department policies, procedures, and physical plant.

Requirements:

Current CA Speech Pathologist license
BLS
Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) within 60 days of hire/transfer.
One year of infant, pediatric, and adolescent experience is encouraged if assigned to the Infant, Pediatric, and Adolescent Units.
Must have a valid California Drivers License, auto insurance, and be willing to operate personal car necessitated by nature of job if assigned to Home Health.
